FOUNDATION

In 1983, T. Vance McCown incorporated Vance McCown Construction Company, Inc. which specializes in commercial institutional, and industrial construction. VMC is licensed as a general contractor in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and fifteen other states.

VMC has a diverse client base and has completed numerous projects, including, religious, office retail, warehouse, and institutional for a broad base of clients such as the Christ Church, FBI, AmSouth Bank, World Omni Financial Center, CIBA-GEIGY, Rex TV & Appliance and Providence Hospital. When VMC establishes a relationship with a client, the client returns, again and again. VMC does more for the client than cost effective construction. The VMC approach has inspired confidence on clients and produced a remarkable record of successful projects.

BACKGROUND

Vance McCown knows the construction business from the ground up. His Father was a realtor, contractor, and developer who build structures from single family dwellings to multi-story condominiums. At an early age, Vance McCown learned the most important values which would guide him as a contractor: open communication not only with the client, but with all those involved in the project to serve the client's needs solely. Vance McCown graduated from Louisiana State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in construction.

APPROACH

Vance McCown recognizes that as the contractor, he must understand completely the needs and requirements of the owner, architect, and engineer. Then, the contractor can effectively work with the entire team so that the project fully satisfies the requirements of the owner. VMC will work with the owner and his representatives to select the appropriate site, to solve design problems, to stay on budget, and to complete each stage of the project on schedule.

GOAL

VMC provides valuable services which eliminate costly mistakes. VMC advises owners on site acquisition and will employ architects and engineers to suit the particular project needs. Then VMC works as a partner with the construction team to recommend construction types and methods to reduce costs to the minimum while providing fully for the owner's requirements.

VMC is experienced in each phase of construction. Beginning with site development and concluding with a certificate of occupancy, VMC provides a full range of construction services.
